Nottingham Forest will be looking to top off their excellent season when they face Manchester City at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday 27th April at 4:30pm. Nuno Espirito Santos’ side are looking to end their campaign with Champions League qualification and a trophy, which would mark their best season since 1990. Pep Guardiola’s side, on the other hand, will be looking to save their season by winning the FA Cup. This game will be broadcast live on ITV1.

Under 2.5 goals (1/1 with bet365)

Forest has had some low-scoring games against the “Big Six” in the Premier League this season. This includes a 0-0 draw with Arsenal, a 1-0 win against Man City and a 1-1 draw with Liverpool, all in 2025. There is just something about Wembley that seems to suck the life out of football matches at times. The combination of a large pitch, with both players and fans being a little bit nervous, often leads to low-scoring matches and with Forest happy to defend, I like this way into the market.

Bernardo Silva & Omar Marmoush 2+ Fouls Committed (9/1 with Sky Bet)

I can see Manchester City becoming frustrated on Sunday and racking up the fouls. The first of two players I’m backing to clear the 2+ line is Bernardo Silva, who has done so in all of his last three matches. Omar Marmoush is the second player, and he gave away three fouls in Manchester City’s win over Aston Villa on Tuesday. Marmoush also conceded two fouls on the trip to Goodison Park last weekend and at 9/1, this double looks to have more legs than the 9/1 suggests.

How both teams go into Nottingham Forest vs Man City

Nottingham Forest have five games to go in their quest for Champions League qualification, with the Tricky Trees currently sit fourth in the table. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have played one game fewer than Manchester City who sit one point ahead in third, but this weekend Forest will be putting their league aspirations aside and will be fully focused on reaching the FA Cup final.

Man City have a lot riding on the FA Cup, failing to make it five Premier League titles in a row and in a tough top-four battle. In fact, Guardiola’s side went on to spend £186.3m in the January window, looking to bring reinforcements to the squad for the Spaniard with the additions of Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis. While the Citizens still have seven important Premier League fixtures to play as they look to qualify for Champions League football in their worst season since 2008-09, winning their eighth FA Cup to ensure they don’t go trophyless.

Nottingham Forest team news

Ola Aina looks unlikely to be back in time to face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final, after sustaining a calf problem. Chris Wood, Anthony Elanga and Taiwo Awoniyi should all be back.

Man City team news

Rodri, Nathan Ake, Erling Haaland and John Stones will all be unavailable for Pep Guardiola’s side. James McAtee is suspended.

Nottingham Forest vs Man City head-to-head

The two sides have faced each other twice this season, with Manchester City winning at The Etihad, before Forest returned the favour by beating Pep’s side at The City Ground. This game being on neutral ground will prove to be the decider between the two for this season.
