The representative of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is confident his client will receive some “important proposals” for him in the summer.
Since moving to London from Italy in 2018, the deep-lying midfielder has enjoyed an up-and-down Blues career.
How important has Jorginho been for Chelsea? Five key things to know…
- Jorginho has started in 20 of Chelsea’s opening 25 league games this season.
- No Blues player has completed more successful passes (1,408) than him.
- He’s scored four Premier League goals, all but one from the penalty spot
- Jorginho’s present deal at Stamford Bridge expires in August 2023.
- His agent, though, feels the Blues will receive some “important proposals” for the midfielder this summer.
Jorginho’s arrival, which cost Chelsea around £50 million, coincided with former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri becoming the club’s latest manager; they’d beat off competition from Manchester City to his signing.
Jorginho’s first season at Stamford Bridge was mixed at best. Despite playing an integral role in winning the Europa League, he’d receive negative reviews from supporters on occasion.
Those feelings, though, have become a thing of the past under current manager Frank Lampard. Only a handful of players – Kepa, Cesar Azpilicueta, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham – have played more minutes under Lampard in the Premier League this season.
It would seem his long-term future firmly lies in the British capital, but agent Joao Santos sees expects offers to move on after this season with a second reunion with Sarri at Juventus a possibility.

“His goal is the European Championship with the national team. There are many expectations around Mancini’s team. The European Championship is also a good showcase,” he is quoted by Italian news outlet TMW.
“Even personally, he is doing very well at Chelsea, and I am sure that some important proposals will come because in his role there are not many high-level players like him around.”
“Why not [Juventus]? I am sure that some important proposals will come, which we would obviously evaluate together with Chelsea.”
Chelsea next play Manchester United at Stamford Bridge a week on Monday, opponents who beat them 4-0 on the opening day of the current Premier League season.
