Ipswich vs Liverpool predicted XIs: Team news and probable line-ups
Premier League football returns to Portman Road for the first time in 22 years and a party atmosphere can be expected in Suffolk at the weekend.
Predicted XIs:
Ipswich (4-2-3-1): Muric; Johnson, Burgess, Greaves, Davis; Morsy, Luongo, Burns, Chaplin, Hutchinson; Delap.
Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister; Salah, Jota, Diaz.
Ipswich play host to a Liverpool side who start the campaign without Jurgen Klopp in the dugout for the first time in almost nine years, with Arne Slot the new man at the Reds’ helm.
Ipswich vs Liverpool kicks off at 12:30 BST on Saturday, August 17th and will be broadcast on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.
Ipswich vs Liverpool Team News
Nathan Broadhead, Harry Clarke, Cameron Humphreys, Nico Valentine and George Hirst look set to miss out with Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna set to hand debuts to new signings Ben Johnson, Arijanet Muric, Jacob Greaves and Liam Delap.
Liverpool look to have a clean bill of health ahead of this match and Slot has no new faces to integrate, with the Reds so far making no new signings in the transfer window.
A similar line-up can be expected to that which served the Reds so well under Klopp with Slot favouring a more patient approach when it comes to playing style.

Lively affair likely to Portman Road
Ipswich were the leading scorers in the Championship last season and their gung-ho approach earned them plenty of admirers on their way to automatic promotion behind champions Leicester.
The Tractor Boys bagged 92 goals in a thrilling campaign, but their attacking approach could lead to trouble against the higher class of opponent this season.
The heavy metal football of the Klopp era looks set to be replaced by a more patient approach as Slot looks to transition Liverpool as smoothly as possible to the new regime, but a settled squad will help, and there remains an abundance of quality at Slot’s disposal.
A high-scoring contest looks likely at Portman Road but it is difficult to see anything other than a Liverpool victory.
