Watch France vs Uruguay Live Stream: How To Watch The Rugby World Cup Online And on TV

The hosts return to the field to take on a Uruguay side who are making their bow in this year’s tournament. France produced a stunning second-half display to take down the All Blacks in Paris last Friday, can they turn on the style in a much easier test on this occasion?

The match will take place in Lille on Thursday 14th September at 8pm UK time.

France vs Uruguay Preview

France head coach Fabien Galthie has heavily rotated his starting XV for this match. This is an understandable strategy as even the second string French players should have more than enough to get the job done against the Pumas.

Despite the rotation the French XV that will take to the field boasts exciting talents such as 20-year-old wing Louis Bielle-Biarrey, multiple Champions Cup winners, and the returning Anthony Jelonch, who suffered an ACL injury only in February against Scotland.

Uruguay are 17th in the world and about to embark on their 5th World Cup appearance. The presence of Chile in this World Cup has leant the whole event a more South American feel and it would be great to see Uruguay or Chile make a splash to increase the profile of the game even further in that region.

However, it is exceptionally unlikely that a win will come Uruguay’s direction here. It is difficult to place this current crop of Uruguayans, they narrowly scraped past Chile in a warm-up match, having defeated them more comfortably ahead of the last World Cup. A heavy loss to Georgia this year and a narrow victory over Namibia doesn’t instil a great deal of confidence in their form, so keeping the score down against this excellent French team is likely to be the limit of Uruguay’s ambition here.
