Benfica have completed the signing of Rio Ave midfielder Filip Krovinovic on a five-year contract.
The Croatian midfielder has joined the Portuguese club for a fee in the region of €3 million.
The 21-year-old becomes Benfica’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Haris Seferovic earlier in the window.
Krovinovic signed his contract and fulfilled his media obligations in Lisbon on Wednesday before returning back to his holidays ahead of Benfica’s pre-season preparations.
The 21-year-old, who can play as an orthodox central midfielder or as a central playmaker in the no.10 position, could be a replacement for Benfica’s Pizzi who has been linked with a move away from the Portuguese capital, with Tottenham among those rumoured to be interested in his services, according to reports.
