Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has extended his one-month stay at Championship side Charlton Athletic, the Gunners today confirmed.
Coquelin featured three times for Charlton since arriving at The Valley earlier this month and he has impressed for the club, which prompted them to make it a longer stay for the Frenchman.
The 23-year-old, who has made 43 Arsenal first-team appearances, will now stay on at Charlton until the 30 December, before he returns back to the Emirates, unless the Gunners allow an even longer stay for the midfielder.
In July 2008, Coquelin joined Arsenal from Stade Lavallois following a successful trial with the club, but the Frenchman has been restricted to a minimal amount of appearances due to a number of injuries.
Coquelin has had loan spells with Freiburg and Lorient, before his spell now in the Championship with Charlton. Coquelin could be offloaded in the January transfer window, should he return to the Emirates from his loan spell.
