Netherlands vs Georgia build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
The Netherlands had to battle from behind twice to salvage a 2-2 friendly draw with Scotland on Wednesday, doing little to assure fans that De Boer has what it takes to lead the nation to glory this summer. Georgia aren’t expected to offer the same quality of opposition but the Netherlands will no doubt still offer plenty of respect. If nothing else, De Boer will be desperate to see his side play with more attacking freedom and conviction ahead of their vital clash with Ukraine next week.
- Netherlands (vs Scotland): Krul; Dumfries, Timber, De Vrij, De Ligt, Wijndal; Wijnaldum, De Roon, De Jong; Weghorst, Depay.
- Georgia (vs Romania): Kupatadze; Chabradze, Kvirkvelia, Khocholava, Azarovi; Shengelia, Kvekveskiri, Daushvili, Aburjania, Okriashvili; Mikautadze.
PSV forward Cody Gakpo is likely to receive his international debut here ahead of next week’s European Championships big kick-off. De Boer is certain to further shuffle his pack to allow more players the chance to make their case to be in his starting XI. Solomon Kvirkvelia is suspended following his red card in Georgia’s defeat to Romania.

Players to watch: Donny van de Beek
Despite joining for a £35m fee, Donny van de Beek was restricted to just four Premier League starts and 19 appearances in the competition overall for Manchester United last season, totalling 515 minutes. Luckily for the former Ajax man, De Boer has still seen fit to include the midfielder in his Euro 2020 squad.
After sitting out Oranje’s 2-2 draw with Scotland, Van de Beek should start here and he’ll be doing all he can to prove he is still capable of the performances that brought him to prominence at Ajax a couple of years ago. If he can get among the goals and assists against Georgia, it might just convince De Boer to start Van de Beek against Ukraine next week.
