Lazio will be looking to end the 2019/20 Serie A season on a high when they travel to Napoli on Saturday at 7:45pm.
Simone Inzaghi’s side had previously been been tipped to push Juventus all the way in the race for the title, but a poor run in July (losing four of their first five games including one against the Bianconeri) put paid to that. They are now fourth but could still finish the season second, with just a point separating them and Inter Milan, who face Atalanta.
But standing in their way are a Napoli side who will be looking to take momentum into their Champions League last-16 second leg against Barcelona, set to take place in a week’s time. The Partenopei have nothing to play for with regards to Serie A. They are guaranteed seventh and a place in the Europa League for next season due to their Coppa Italia win.
Also up against Lazio is Inzaghi’s frankly terrible record on the final day of the season since taking charge of the club, losing all four such matches and conceding at least three goals per game. Napoli have an impressive record against Lazio, too, winning 49 Serie A games (more than they have against any other club) while also winning 31 of the 63 meetings at the San Paolo, losing just 10.
Can Inzaghi end his unwanted streak or will Napoli get the better of Lazio at home once again?

Player to watch:
For one final time this season, Ciro Immobile will be stepping onto the pitch to try and secure his hold on the Capocannoniere for 2019/20. The 30-year-old current leads the way at the top of the Serie A goalscoring charts, scoring his 35th goal of the campaign in Lazio’s 2-0 win over Brescia in midweek, opening up a four-goal gap over Cristiano Ronaldo.
But it was a frustrating evening for Immobile in which he really should have scored more than one, spurning a number of good chances, something that clearly got to the forward as shown by his celebration.
Now he's got his goal! 😱

Immobile’s frustration stems from how close he is to making history in a number of ways. The Italian striker is just one goal away from equalling Gonzalo Higuain’s record of most goals scored in a single Serie A campaign, with the Argentinian managing 36 in 2015/16. Two goals would see Immobile break the record both in Serie A and Italian top-flight history, with Gino Rossetti also managing 36 in 1928/29, the season prior to Serie A’s establishment.
But that’s not the only milestone there for the taking. Immobile could also set a new Serie A record of away goals scored in a single season, currently level with himself in 2017/18 and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2017/18.
Then there’s the chance of joining an elite group alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuain, Ibrahimovic, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez as just the sixth player to score at least 36 goals in a single campaign in one of Europe’s top five leagues this century. No pressure, Ciro.
