Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed playmaker Nabil Fekir is looking to leave the club this summer.

But Fekir didn’t allow this to hamper his professionalism, notching 12 goals and nine assists in Ligue 1 and Champions League games combined as Lyon finished third and reached the round-of-16 in the respective tournaments.

Rumours of a transfer away from the French club still persist, though, with Aulas now admitting they are awaiting an offer.

“His preference is towards a departure.,” he told reporters. “We are open to discussions.

“We have no news. We are waiting for proposals in the coming days but for the moment, we do not have any. ”

Fekir scored three Ligue 1 goals from outside the area during 2018/19, the joint-highest amount of any player at the club.

Aulas also addressed speculation regarding Tanguy Ndombele’s transfer, with a number of European giants linked with his name – including Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona – claiming no club has yet met his valuation of the player.

He added: “There is nothing decided at the moment. The many requests do not correspond to what I expect.”

Lyon have also been linked with former Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis following the transfer of Ferland Mendy to Real Madrid, with Aulas making no attempt to hide is admiration for the 33-year-old.

“We are far enough from an agreement,” Aulas said. “He has many qualities but he wants to take his time to make the decision. We are in a hurry to announce a number of signatures but he is one of the players we are very interested in.”
