Monaco vs Lyon build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
A ninth Ligue 1 crown and first since 2017 could be on the cards for Monaco who come into this weekend sitting just two points behind leaders Lille with just four matches remaining this season. Les Monégasques also have momentum on their side having won five matches on the bounce ahead of Lyon’s visit. In those outings Niko Kovač’s side registered 15 goals whilst never conceding. In fact across their previous 19 league matches they’ve lost once (1-0 at Strasbourg) whilst being held on three occasions including against the aforementioned Les Dogues.
Just behind the championship picture is Lyon who for a while seemed destined to end a 13-year title wait. However the wheels came off. Following a 3-0 win against Strasbourg, their fourth win on the bounce, they’ve played 10 matches winning just four of those matches. Extremely damaging were home defeats against Paris Saint-Germain (2-4) and Lille (2-3) who are both contesting for this season’s Ligue 1 prize. Lyon’s record on the road has been somewhat decent. Going into this latest road trip Les Gones are on a 15-match unbeaten run; they’ve won nine of those road trips, including a 0-1 success at PSG.
- Monaco (vs Angers): Lecomte; Sidibé, Maripán, Disasi, Henrique; Aguilar, Tchouaméni, Fofana, Golovin; Volland, Jovetic.
- Lyon (vs Lille): Lopes; Dubois, De Sciglio, Marcelo, Bard; Caqueret, Mendes; Toko Ekambi, Paquetá, Depay; Slimani.
Stevan Jovetic (calf) and Sofiane Diop (ankle) are set to miss out for Monaco who could also be without Aleksandr Golovin and Gelson Martins. Lyon meanwhile have only Melvin Bard absent from their matchday squad.
