Moise Kean hits back after father’s tractor demands resurface
Juventus and Italy starlet Moise Kean has finally retaliated to comments made by his father about the club owing him a tractor as per an agreement in his contract.
Kean, 19, has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in Italian football, scoring twice for Gli Azzurri during the international break.
What are the tractor comments? Five key things to know…
- In 2017 Biorou Kean claimed Juve promised him a tractor as part of his son’s deal with the club.
- Kean Snr. was happy the club had handed his son a €700,000-a-year contract but was incensed that a tractor had not yet been provided for his “agricultural business in the Ivory Coast.”
- At the time he threatened that his son would run down his contract if his demands were not met.
- Kean Jnr. was below the age of 18 at the time and hence still required his parents’ permission before signing a new contract.
- Earlier this month Biorou Kean once again spoke publicly about the club ‘owing him two tractors and now not giving him tickets.’
The fledgling forward has been equally impressive in Turin with Massimiliano Allegri affording the teenage talent more first-team opportunities in recent months.
But it could have been a completely different story had Biorou Kean followed through on his threat and not allowed his son to sign a new contract with the club.
Kean Snr. claimed the club went back on their promise to provide him a tractor in return for his son’s signature, and those claims have now resurfaced after he, once again, lambasted Juve for still not delivering on their supposed agreement two years on.
However, Kean Jnr. has finally broken his silence on the matter, revealing on his Instagram account that he knows nothing about any deal for a tractor.
He wrote: “Tractors? I don’t know what you’re talking about. If I am the man I am today, it’s only THANKS TO MY MOTHER.
“With that, I said everything, and never forget who gives you the food you eat.”
‘Kean is an Inter fan’
Following his rapid rise to first-team action for the Old Lady and Italy, Kean Snr. was quick to reveal his son was actually an Inter Milan fan growing up.
He suggested Kean idolised former Nerazzurri marksman Obafemi Martins as a child and was therefore attached to the club.
He said: “Moise supported Inter as a kid, because he loved Obafemi Martins and kept pestering me for his shirt. He played for Torino, but I sent him to Juve, because I am a Bianconeri fan.”

Despite revealing his affection for Juventus, Kean Snr. added that his relationship with the club has significantly deteriorated, while also claiming Kean’s mother had wanted her son to ply his trade on English soil.
“I am very happy for him, even if I have a problem with the club Juventus. They won’t give me any more tickets to the stadium.
“I am separated with Moise’s mother and she, in the past, wanted to move the lad to England.”
While Kean Jnr. has distanced himself from comments made by his father, he certainly made it apparent just how much of a major influence his mother has had on his footballing career.
His mother, Isabelle, also spoke out recently about events relating to her son signing his first professional contract with Juventus.
Speaking in an interview with Tuttosport, she said: “There wasn’t a lot of money coming in. I worked at a treatment facility and often did night shifts.
“Then one day, he called me at 5:30 in the evening. I was going to work in Nizza Monferrato. I got scared, I thought something had happened to him.
“Instead he says to me, ‘Mum, there’s a surprise for you.’ I replied, ‘don’t tell me you didn’t sign for Juve.’
“He said ‘no Mum, I’ve signed. You don’t have to work anymore and you can live with me in Turin.’
“Moise’s success has repaid all the sacrifices I made in the past.”
