This has been an excellent season so far for the Minnesota Vikings, who sit five wins ahead of their closest NFC North rivals and could seal the division title this weekend. Following the defeat to the Eagles, the Vikings went on a seven-game win streak which was only brought to an end by the Dallas Cowboys. But they bounced back last time out, beating the New England Patriots 33-26 to put them on the brink.
Looking to keep the Vikings’ party on ice are the New York Jets who are in a very tight AFC East in which just three wins separate top from bottom. The Jets are third out of four with a record of 7-4, two wins behind leaders Buffalo Bills but they have played one game fewer. As things stand, the Jets are also in the final wild card spot, but things are so very close.
The Jets started the season with two defeats from three, losing to the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals either side of a win over the Cleveland Browns, and that defeat to the Bengals could count against them as the pair are currently tied for wins – with head-to-head the tiebreaker. The Jets did followed that defeat up with a win-streak of four but they go into this game with two wins and two defeats from their past four, most recently beating the Chicago Bears. With six games to come, the Jets can’t really afford any indifferent form.
