Manchester United transfer news: Sancho, Aarons, Grealish favourites to join
Manchester United begin 2021 with Premier League title hopes but a quiet January Transfer Window is expected at Old Trafford this month.Â
The mid-season arrival of Bruno Fernandes this time last year transformed United’s campaign with at least one new addition expected to be confirmed this time around.
Amad Diallo will arrive from Atalanta for a reported fee rising to around £37million in what will likely be United’s most notable piece of business this month. The deal for the 18-year-old was originally announced on deadline day in October but United have had to wait on a work permit to finalise the transfer.
Executive vice chairman Ed Woodward said in December that Manchester United were “focused on summer windows” but that does not mean the club will be completely inactive this January.
Manchester United continue to monitor Jadon Sancho, however unlikely a January deal might be, while they are reportedly keeping tabs on Norwich full-back Max Aarons. United are currently priced at 6/4 to sign the 21-year-old – although the Canaries will be reluctant to do business this month as they seek an immediate return to the top flight.
They are still searching for a centre-back, with Brighton defender Ben White (3/1 to move to Old Trafford before the February deadline) and Conor Coady (16/1) among several names linked with a move.
Jack Grealish (7/1) is another name which won’t go away while a move for Christian Eriksen – who has been made surplus to requirements at Inter – is currently priced at 12/1. United were strongly linked with a move for the Dane in 2019 as he sought a move away from Tottenham but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would appear to be firmly stocked in midfield.
