“Forget Fergie Time, it’s Rashford Time now!” – Player ratings as Manchester United leave it late to beat West Ham 1-0
On a dramatic afternoon, Manchester United beat West Ham 1-0 with a stoppage time winner from Marcus Rashford.
The game itself was dour and grim, but the late goal and win moves The Red Devils up into the Premier League top four.

Claim HereManchester United
David de Gea – 5 – Had almost literally nothing to do.
Diogo Dalot – 6 – Solid defensively (4 tackles, 2 interceptions, 4 clearances). Rubbish in attack.
Raphael Varane – 6 – Defended well against what little attacks West Ham could muster.
Harry Maguire – 8 – Whenever West Ham got up a head of steam, Maguire appeared to shut them down with some powerful interventions, especially early on. Looked solid and like he was returning to his best.
Alex Telles – 6 – A delightful pass forward to start the move for the winner was just about the only good thing he did with the ball all game. So wasteful in possession despite his impressive 5 tackles.
Scott McTominay – 5 – Conceded more fouls than he made tackles. Seemed allergic to forward passing, but worked hard.
Fred – 4 – Killed so many United attacks but consistently refusing to pass it forward. United only improved (barely) when he went off.
Declan Rice is the dream midfield signing for Manchester United… but @muhammadbutt has created a shortlist of players in case they can't convince him to join. 🧐https://t.co/5s9ufZL37g

Bruno Fernandes – 6 – Worked hard, creating a game-high 4 chances. Scruffy and ineffective.
Mason Greenwood – 5 – So rarely given the ball in a good situation, and he messed up the one time that he did. He’s just not a winger.
Anthony Elanga – 5 – Nowhere near as goood as he was midweek against a team with a low block.
Cristiano Ronaldo – 4 – One three yard pass in the move for the game-winner was literally the only good thing he did all game. Missed a sitter first-half from an amazing Fernandes cross. Otherwise was just criminally poor both in terms of his individual struggle to be imposing but also the negative effect he had on United’s ability to play the kind of dynamic football that eventually broke West Ham down.

Marcus Rashford (for Elanga 62′) – 7 – Scored the game-winner! An actual goal!! Lovely sharp movement in his half-hour cameo but was crying out for better service, much like that which Cavani provided in stoppage time.
This is 2 goals in 2 for the Englishman as he looks to battle back from his injury woes and re-find his form. And it’s four stoppage time winners for United, which is more than anyone else has managed in club history. Forget Fergie Time, it’s Rashford Time now!
Marcus Rashford has scored more 90th-minute winners in the Premier League than any other Man Utd player in the competition's history:

Edinson Cavani (for Fred 82′) – 7 – A superb run and cross for the stoppage time winner.
Anthony Martial (for Greenwood 82′) – 7 – Looked in a good mood. His play on the winning goal was calm, composed and in control.

West Ham
Alphonse Areola – 5 – Did what little there was to do. Helpless on the goal.
Vladimir Coufal – 6 – Made 3 tackles and defended well but undone at the last second for the game-winner.
Craig Dawson – 7 – Colossal Craig with a game-high 5 clearances.
Kurt Zouma – 8 – Any time United appeared to be picking up momentum, Zouma appeared to shut it down. Mirrored Maguire well.
Aaron Cresswell – 4 – Unusually poor with the ball today and lost Rashford for the goal.
Tomas Soucek – 6 – Didn’t really prevent too many United advances down the middle but never let them get much space in the box.
Declan Rice – 7 – A rampaging force. Didn’t really use the ball well in terms of advancing the ball with adventurous passes, but broke up attacks, maintained possession and ran through midfield well.
Declan Rice's first half by numbers vs. Man Utd:
100% long pass accuracy
100% take-on success
100% tackle success
100% duels won
33 passes attempted

Jarrod Bowen – 6 – Some good dribbling but really should have used the ball better, especially in the last second when he gave the ball away to Telles so needlessly.
Manuel Lanzini – 5 – Didn’t do much.
Pablo Fornals – 5 – Was barely involved.
Michail Antonio – 4 – Really poor. Ran hard at Maguire but sloppy touches gave the defender chances he shouldn’t have gotten. Didn’t hold it up well, didn’t truly threaten goal either.
Substitutes:
Ryan Fredericks (for Coufal 70′) – 6 – Worked hard.
