Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he’s got no issue after it emerged Paul Pogba and Zinedine Zidane met in Dubai.

The 26-year-old Frenchman is currently rehabbing in the United Arab Emirates after sustaining a serious ankle injury and was photographed alongside Real Madrid boss Zidane.

Could there be more to the photo? Five key things to know…

  • Pogba returned to Man Utd from Juventus in 2016.
  • He’s since gone on to make 145 appearances, registering 31 goals and 32 assists.
  • But the France international has suffered as much criticism as praise.
  • Pogba made it known in the summer he wanted to leave with Real Madrid heavily linked.
  • While recovering from a serious ankle injury, he was photographed with Real boss Zidane.

Pogba was heavily linked with the Spanish giants during the summer after making it known he was keen to end his second spell at Old Trafford.

Despite being the club’s most productive player last season, Pogba was continually scrutinised as the Red Devils finished outside the Premier League top four with Solskjaer at the helm.

United have started their 2019/20 campaign poorly, sitting just two points above the relegation zone after eight matches with Pogba ruled out for the forthcoming meeting with table toppers Liverpool.

Normally the club’s marquee player, you would expect Pogba being seen in conversation with a rival manager to annoy Solskjaer but the Norwegian tactician remains calm.

“Paul is part of our plan. He’s been playing through the pain barrier and has been criticised left, right and centre,” he told reporters.

“But when he came back, against Rochdale, Arsenal he wanted to play. But it was too painful.

“Now, he’s on the way back, he’s recovering, he’s mending, he’s been on a few days off working but he’s away from here, and it’s a picture.

“When you’re at Man United it happens. I don’t have any problem with it at all.”
