Man Utd vs Club Brugge predictions, live stream options & confirmed line-ups

Manchester United know that if they can prevent Club Brugge from scoring at Old Trafford on Thursday evening their Europa League quest will continue.

And that’s because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men returned from Belgium last week having secured a 1-1 draw in Brugge, with in-form marksman Anthony Martial cancelling out Emmanuel Bonaventure’s opener.

Brugge, who have never won a game on English soil, don’t have to leave Manchester with a victory. A high-scoring draw guarantees their progression into the round-of-16, but can they inflict further misery on the Red Devils?

Read on for our preview of Man Utd vs Club Brugge, including predictions, team news and TV coverage information.

Ones to watch

Man Utd: Bruno Fernandes

The winter arrival of Bruno Fernandes has certainly had an immediate impact on the club’s season. He’s now been involved in three of United’s last four Premier League goals, whilst his appearance off the bench in Brugge last week certainly improved their play. Fernandes is likely to start this time round, and he’ll be hoping to register his first continental goal for the 2017 Europa League winners.

Key stat: Bruno Fernandes has been involved in eight goals across six Europa League matches this season (five goals and three assists).

Club Brugge: Hans Vanaken

Club Brugge know they must score to stand any chance of reaching the round-of-16, but the Belgian outfit are missing key personnel, notably assist machine Ruud Vormer, meaning extra onus will be put on their attacking players, including top scorer Hans Vanaken. The mountainous midfielder has registered one goal across seven European club matches this season — excluding Champions League qualifiers.

Key stat: Hans Vanaken is Club Brugge’s leading scorer in the Belgian top division with 12 goals.

Squawka prediction

Man Utd are seemingly turning a corner, although not the first time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but the presence of Fernandes has had a galvanising effect on the Red Devils. As such, we expect them to take the game away from a depleted Brugge side.

Scoreline prediction: Man Utd 3-1 Club Brugge
