Premier League table-toppers Arsenal travel to Old Trafford on Sunday for a fascinating match-up against an in-form Manchester United to conclude matchday six (4.30pm kick-off, UK time).

It’s been a chalk-and-cheese start to 2022/23 for Mikel Arteta compared to last season’s diabolical opener, with the Gunners currently riding the crest of a wave having won their opening five matches, the only side still flawless in the Premier League.

For Man United, their concerning start has been offset by three wins on the bounce, including a 2-1 win over Liverpool, offering shoots of life in these early stages of Erik ten Hag’s reign. Given Liverpool’s own stuttering start, this contest against the current pace-setters could be the real acid test for Ten Hag so far.

It’s a fascinatingly poised ‘Big Six’ showdown…

Man Utd v Arsenal betting acca tips

The Premier League is moving at a relentless pace, owing largely to the schedule-disrupting winter World Cup, but it certainly aligns with the turbo-charged tempo of the division. This weekend represents another matchday of potential barnstormers.

Man United v Arsenal is an opportunity to place an accumulator on two teams many fans of English football will be familiar with and users who choose to bet with Bet UK could boost their acca profits by up to 50%.

For the uninitiated, accumulators allow you to pool more than one bet together for increased odds (such as with the example acca for Man Utd v Arsenal below). To win, all selections must come through.

Despite being in and out of the side at the minute, don’t rule out Cristiano Ronaldo taking centre stage at some point in this contest. The Portuguese has scored seven goals in his last eight games against Arsenal across all competitions, bagging home and away versus them in the league last season. But, if it’s not Ronaldo, there should be goals in this game either way, as Arteta’s men have netted twice or more in all five Premier League games so this season, while Man Utd have bagged in 10 of their 12 home games in 2022, though they have kept just four clean sheets in that time.

Manchester United team news

Ten Hag confirmed, following his side’s 1-0 win over Leicester on Thursday, that deadline-day signing Antony took part in his first individual training session upon signing for the club, while he will meet up with his new team-mates on Friday for his proper run through at Carrington.

“Today (Thursday), he did his first training, so [an] individual [session],” Ten Hag confirmed.

“Tomorrow (Friday), we have a team session and on Saturday we have a team session, so I will think about it and then we will take a decision.”

On the injury front, the Dutchman ruled out Anthony Martial who is still recovering from an agitation sustained against Liverpool, while he also remained tight-lipped on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw, both of whom were both absent at the King Power on Thursday night.

He said: “It’s difficult to say when I talk about Luke Shaw and Aaron, but Anthony Martial will not be involved on Sunday.”

Martin Dubravka will likely be on the bench after moving across from Newcastle, while Victor Lindelof was back in a matchday squad against the Foxes, having missed the opening four games of the campaign, with the Swede expected to keep the new boys company on the sidelines this weekend.

Arsenal team news

Skipper Martin Odegaard and goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale both face late fitness tests against the Red Devils after picking up knocks against Aston Villa, while Oleksandr Zinchenko is expected to sit this one out with a knee problem. Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey are both confirmed absentees as well.

On Odegaard and Ramsdale, Arteta stated in his pre-match press conference: “Those two, they have been assessed. We will see more tomorrow. Hopefully they will be available to train with the team.

“Unfortunately with Alex [Zinchenko], that’s still not the case. He’s missed two games and he hasn’t been able to train with the team yet.”

One player who will be looking to pick up some minutes this weekend in the absence of Zinchenko is Kieran Tierney, who has endured his fair share of visits to the physio room.

If he’s looking to impress Arsenal fans this weekend, then his best chance may be with his feet rather than his mouth after the Scotland international recently revealed the best player he’s featured alongside (hint: it isn’t an Arsenal player).

“The best player I’ve played with would be Scott Brown,” Tierney told Goal. “As an influential player, on and off the park, he has it all.

“He’s the perfect captain, and someone any player in the world could learn from.”

Scoreline prediction: Man Utd 2-2 Arsenal
