Luca Pellegrini arrives to complete Juventus medical ahead of Roma deal
Luca Pellegrini has arrived at J-Medical ahead of his proposed move to Italian champions Juventus.
The 20-year-old left-back will undergo his medical today on his way to completing his transfer from Roma, with Leonardo Spinazzola heading in the other direction.
Who is Juventus signing Luca Pellegrini? Five things to know…
- Pellegrini spent the second half of last season on loan Cagliari, who finished 15th.
- He impressed in his 12 appearances there, chipping in with an assist from left-back.
- The Italian made just six appearances for Roma.
- The versatile youngster can play in central midfield as well as at full-back.
- Juventus reportedly fought off strong interest from AC Milan to sign the prospect.
Pellegrini arrived at Juventus’ state-of-the-art medical centre early on Sunday morning, where he will undergo tests and look to become the Old Lady’s second signing of the summer, following Aaron Ramsey’s free transfer from Arsenal.

The soon-to-be former Roma player failed to make the Italian U21 squad for the European Championships this summer in his home nation, but is highly rated in Italy as a star for the future.
“Luca is an example of commitment to hard work and has a determination to improve, values that resonate with those of this club,” former Roma sporting director Monchi said as Pellegrini signed his last contract with the club around a year ago.

Spinazzola, 26, will replace Pellegrini at Roma after the Italian struggled to displace first-choice Alex Sandro following a serious knee injury suffered in May of last year. The Italian will hope to reinvigorate his career in Rome under new manager Paolo Fonseca.

Another major change in Turin has seen Maurizio Sarri take over from Max Allegri, who left Juventus after failing to make it past the quarter-finals of last season’s Champions League.
Further Juventus signings could come in the form of Mattijs de Ligt, who scored and captained Ajax as they eliminated the Old Lady from Europe’s premier club tournament in April. Adrien Rabiot, who will be free agent after his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires, is also heavily linked.
