Liverpool will look to keep their upturn in form going when they host Brighton on Wednesday at 8:15pm (UK time).

The Reds have once again discovered their mojo after enduring a run of five Premier League games without a win, picking up just two points and scoring one goal during that time.

Liverpool vs Brighton build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:

Jurgen Klopp will be feeling much better after watching his side run out 3-1 winners over both Tottenham and West Ham in back-to-back away games, ending a wretched run of recent form.

The Reds have climbed back into third place in the Premier League table as a result and are still only four points adrift of leaders Manchester City, although Pep Guardiola’s men have a game in hand on the reigning champions.

But Liverpool will certainly have their work cut out as they welcome Brighton to Anfield. The Seagulls are enjoying a turnaround in fortunes themselves right now, taking seven points from their last three games without conceding a single goal.

Graham Potter’s men beat Spurs 1-0 last time out to go seven points clear of 18th-placed Fulham. Potter will fancy his side’s chances of survival now, even if Brighton have played one game more than the Cottagers.

  • Liverpool (vs West Ham): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Henderson, Robertson; Thiago, Wijnaldum, Milner*; Shaqiri; Salah, Origi.
  • Brighton (vs Tottenham): Sanchez; White, Dunk, Webster; Veltman*, Groß, Bissouma, March; Trossard, Mac Allister*; Maupay.

With Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho all out, it remains to be seen whether or not Klopp will hand debuts to new centre-backs Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak. Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota remain sidelined, while James Milner and Naby Keita are doubts.

Jose Izquierdo returned to the bench against Spurs last time out after a long spell on the sidelines but the likes of Tariq Lamptey and Danny Welbeck remain sidelined. Joel Veltman and Alexis Mac Allister are doubts.

Player to watch: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Few players symbolised Liverpool’s recent dip in form more than Mohamed Salah, who failed to score in six consecutive Premier League appearances following a brace during that 7-0 win over Crystal Palace in December.

That said, the Egyptian never forgot where the net was, bagging three goals in two FA Cup games against Aston Villa and Man Utd. Salah is now back on track in the Premier League, too, helping himself to two goals in 11 minutes as the Reds ran out 3-1 winners over West Ham at the London Stadium.

The Egyptian forward is once again top of the standings in the Golden Boot race with 15 Premier League goals so far, two clear of his nearest rivals Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Klopp will be after a repeat performance from Salah as he plots how to break down this stubborn Brighton defence.
