Liverpool vs Everton build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
When Liverpool crushed Crystal Palace 7-0 in December, few could have predicted just how quickly the wheels would fall off the Reds’ title defence. But since that resounding victory, Klopp’s side have picked up just nine points from a possible 30, falling a massive 16 points behind leaders Manchester City.
This has also seen Everton simultaneously close the gap on their Merseyside rivals to just three points. Sure, Carlo Ancelotti’s men aren’t in great form themselves, winning just one of their last six Premier League games, but a victory at Anfield — which would represent their first on this ground since 1999 and their first over Liverpool since 2010 — would draw them level on points with the Reds, with a game in hand.
- Liverpool (vs RB Leipzig): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Kabak, Henderson, Robertson; Jones, Thiago, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane.
- Everton (vs Man City): Pickford; Holgate, Mina*, Keane, Godfrey; Iwobi, Doucoure, Davies, Digne; Sigurdsson; Richarlison.
Klopp is still without Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Fabinho, Diogo Jota and James Milner for the Merseyside derby, while Naby Keita is unlikely to feature.
Yerry Mina is out with a calf injury for Everton, while Fabian Delph is a doubt, but Ancelotti will be boosted by the returns of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Allan.
