In a thrilling night of football, Liverpool saw off Chelsea 5-3 at Anfield.
The Champions roared into an early three goal lead but Chelsea fought their way back into the match before getting killed off at the end.
Here’s how the players rated at Anfield:
Alisson – 6 – Did what he had to do. A great reaction save in the lead-up to Chelsea’s first goal. Needed more help from his defence.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 9 – Mesmeric in attack. Could have done better defensively as was culpable for all the Chelsea goals but his attacking play more than made up for it. One outrageous free-kick was arguably topped by an even more absurd cross for Firmino’s goal, his 13th assist of the season breaking the record that he set just last season. This kid is like having David Beckham at right-back.
Joe Gomez – 4 – A solid defender but not the most solid performance. Completely rinsed for Abraham’s goal and bumped into Van Dijk for Chelsea’s third. Did not come out after half-time.
Virgil van Dijk – 5 – Looked to have gotten over his recent woes but then crashed into Gomez in the lead-up to Chelsea’s third.
Andrew Robertson – 7 – Took the corner that led to Liverpool’s third and punctuated a middling display with a phenomenal assist for Liverpool’s fifth goal, surging by Jorginho before crossing accurately.
Fabinho – 5 – Could have reacted quicker for Giroud’s goal.
Naby Keita – 8 – Sensational strike to open the game up. Won the ball back from Willian then raced into space and absolutely leathered it home from distance.
Georginio Wijnaldum – 6 – A decent, hardworking display.
Mohamed Salah – 5 – His movement was brilliant but his finishing and decision-making in the final third was shocking. He looked like Chelsea-era Salah rather than the colossus he has become at Anfield.
Roberto Firmino – 6 – Finally scored a Premier League goal at Anfield this season at the 19th and final attempt. It took him 54 shots but a beautifully composed header did the trick.
Sadio Mané – 6 – Not his usual self today, bar one mesmeric run which ended in an impressive dive that resulted in Liverpool’s second goal he was mostly
James Milner (for Wijnaldum 66′) – 5 – Worked hard.
Curtis Jones (for Keita 66′) – 6 – Some nice runs.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (for Salah 79′) – 7 – Nice finish to rattle home Liverpool’s fifth.
Divock Origi (for Firmino 87′) – n/a – Came on late.
Takumi Minamino (for Mané 87′) – n/a – Came on late.

Kepa Arrizabalaga – 4 – Conceded five goals and, although he was powerless for three of the goals his inability to command his box for Chelsea’s third or keep out a shot straight at him for the fifth killer goal just about sum up a poor season for the Spaniard.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 5 – Got stuck in, defensively.
Kurt Zouma – 5 – Handled Liverpool’s famed front three quite well but couldn’t do anything to keep any of the Liverpool goals out.
Antonio Rudiger – 4 – Another poor display from the German who was repeatedly bypassed by Liverpool players with ease.
Reece James – 5 – Worked hard up and down the touchline to little impact.
Jorginho – 6 – Battled hard in the middle of the park. Completed less than 90% of his passes, though!
Mateo Kovacic – 6 – Another battling performance from the Croatian, and he was so unlucky to concede the free-kick that Liverpool scored their second was as he never made any contact with Mané but the referees were duped by the dive.
Marcos Alonso – 6 – A bit of a nothing performance from the Spaniard illuminated by his tasty flick in the lead-up for Chelsea’s first goal.
Willian – 6 – Some threatening runs early on. Dispossessed for Liverpool’s opening goal. Let loose a ripper of a shot that was saved but led to Chelsea’s opener.
Mason Mount – 5 – Not quite as impactful as he would have liked to be. Scored a lovely goal but was clearly offside.
Olivier Giroud – 6 – Missed a massive header early on. Fluffed a defensive header for Liverpool’s third goal but bundled Chelsea’s first goal over the line minutes later to make up for it.
Christian Pulisic (for Willian 59′) – 8 – Unreal cameo off the bench. Tore the Liverpool defence to bits with an unreal slalom run and lovely cross for Tammy Abraham’s goal and then hammered home the Blues’ third after collecting a tasty cross. Captain America leading the way.
Callum Hudson-Odoi (for Mount 59′) – 7 – Instantly added a pulsating presence lacking for the match before his arrival. A lovely cross for Chelsea’s third goal to give them a chance.
Tammy Abraham (for Giroud 59′) – 7 – Was a threat up-front, scoring Chelsea’s second and causing enough worry that the Reds centre-backs crashed into each other ahead of Chelsea’s third.
Emerson (for Alonso 88′) – n/a – Came on late.
