Defending Ligue 1 champions Lille will be looking to get their first win of the new campaign when they host Nice on Saturday at 4pm (UK time).
Les Dogues had to come from 3-1 down to draw with Metz in dramatic fashion last weekend, while Nice were held by Reims.

Lille vs Nice build-up & previous line-ups:
Despite being defending champions, hopes of Lille retaining their title were not high going into the season, as they saw league-winning manager Christophe Galtier leave. The Frenchman was joined in his departure by Mike Maignan (AC Milan) and Boubakary Soumare (Leicester City), leaving Lille trying to replace key members of their title-winning squad. Lille’s pre-season preparations weren’t ideal with just one win and they also needed a big shift to avoid defeat on the opening day. Away to Metz, Lille took the lead through Sven Botman but were eventually 3-1 down shortly after the start of the second half. But their blushes were saved in the seventh minute of injury time by an own goal from goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja.
It’s fitting that Galtier’s new club are the first visitors to Lille this season, with the Frenchman taking his Nice side back to his former stomping grounds in just the second week of the season. Nice had an admirable finish last season in ninth, just six points behind Rennes in the final European qualification spot, but have looked to improve with Jean-Clair Todibo joining on a permanent deal. However, Nice also had a poor pre-season, winning just one of their six friendlies before eventually being involved in a goalless draw with Reims.
- Lille (vs Metz): Jardim; Celik, Fonte, Botman, Mandava; Sanches, Yazici, Andre, Bamba; David, Yilmaz.

A tough start for Galtier
Christophe Galtier was rightfully praised for leading Lille to the Ligue 1 title last season, masterminding their campaign and getting the better of Paris Saint-Germain over the 38 matches. However, he has not enjoyed a good start to life in charge of Nice.
Although the campaign is just one week old, and Nice did manage to keep a clean sheet against Reims, Les Aiglons were woeful in front of goal, posting an xG of just 0.19 – the worst in Ligue 1. It’s not the best time, then, for Nice to travel to a Lille side seeking their first win, especially as they have lost five of their last nine away league matches.
