Lazio will be looking to keep their Serie A title hopes alive when they host AC Milan in Saturday’s 8:45pm kick-off.
Simone Inzaghi’s men are currently second, four points behind Juventus with nine games left to play, having recently suffered a set-back in losing to Atalanta. They did bounce back with a win over Torino last time out, coming from a goal down to do so, but face interesting opposition this weekend.
AC Milan are still fighting to secure their Europa League spot for next season. They are seventh, which would be enough as things stand, with sixth-placed Napoli already guaranteed entry after winning the Coppa Italia. However, they are far from comfortable, just one point ahead of eighth-placed Hellas Verona and go into Saturday’s game off the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw with relegation fighters SPAL, having been 2-0 down.

Lazio & AC Milan’s previous line-ups:
- Lazio (vs Torino): Strakosha; Radu, Acerbi, Patric; Lazzari, Luis Alberto, Milinkovic-Savic, Parolo, Jony; Caicedo*, Immobile*.

Lazio will have to make do without top-scorer Ciro Immobile and strike partner Felipe Caicedo, both of whom are suspended.
Players to watch:
Lazio: With Immobile (29 goals) and Caicedo (eight goals) suspended, Lazio will have to rely on Joaquin Correa to lead the line against Milan this weekend as the club’s only other recognised striker. The 25-year-old was the preferred partner for Immobile early in the season, starting 13 of Lazio’s opening 15 Serie A matches, scoring six goals during that time. But injury at the start of 2020 gave Caicedo the chance to take Correa’s place in the XI, and Correa has struggled to win it back since. Fewer minutes on the pitch has also seen Correa’s goalscoring take a hit, with the Argentinian managing just one goal in his past 10 games. Correa did start Lazio’s first game back post-break, a 3-2 defeat to Atalanta, but was taken off after 55 minutes and has had to make do with substitute appearances in the following two matches. But with a key opportunity to prove himself this weekend, Correa will be hoping he can take his spot back from Caicedo.
AC Milan: Hakan Calhanoglu has been the creative hub of Milan’s side this season, creating 51 chances in Serie A, more than any other player at the club, and it is form he has continued since the restart. Helping Milan to two wins and a draw, Calhanoglu has created 11 chances in his past three appearances, more than any other player in the league since its return. During that time, the Turkish international has been directly involved in three of Milan’s eight goals, scoring one and recording two assists – to take his total tally for the season to four goals and three assists. And the 26-year-old has been the recipient of praise from manager Stefano Pioli in recent weeks, who believes the Turkish midfielder is ready to become a top player. “He has everything to do well, he runs, he has quality, in my opinion the time has come for him to become a top player,” he said. “For me he is a top player, he is both a technical and mental leader, but his team-mates must recognise this.”
