Juventus will be looking to keep their hold on top spot in Serie A when they host Lecce in Friday’s 8:45pm kick-off.
The Bianconeri are four points clear at the top of the table after Atalanta’s comeback win against Lazio on Wednesday.
After losing the Coppa Italia final to Napoli on penalties, Juventus secured three points upon their return to league football on Monday by beating mid-table Bologna 2-0.
In Friday’s game, they go up against a team even further down the table. Lecce are currently 18th, level on points with Genoa but below due to a worse goal difference as things stand, with teams still to face off one more time before head-to-head is taken into account (in which respect, Lecce are currently down 4-0).
Lecce are in a poor patch of form, too, having lost their past three games. This includes a 4-1 defeat at the hands of AC Milan on Monday in their own return to action.

Players to watch:
Juventus: Mirelam Pjanic’s four-year career at Juventus could soon be over. Reports say the club have agreed a deal with Barcelona for the £72.5m signing of Arthur and elsewhere it is claimed a deal will also be agreed for Pjanic to join Barcelona. It has appeared for some time that Pjanic’s might be on the move. The 30-year-old was linked with a transfer to Chelsea, in what would have been a swap deal for Jorginho, who previously followed Maurizio Sarri from Napoli to Stamford Bridge. After the two separated when Sarri left Chelsea last summer, the coach turned to Pjanic to fulfil the Jorginho role in his midfield trio, providing the link between defence and attack while occupying the deepest midfield role without necessarily operating as a defensive midfielder.
Lecce: Marco Mancosu. Lecce’s defence has been terrible this season. No team has conceded more than their 60 goals in Serie A so far. It’ll be a tall order for the relegation-fighters to keep Juventus out, so instead their hopes of pulling off a shock may rely on their attackers. One of those is Lecce captain Mancosu, now in his fourth season with the club having helped them move up from Serie C to Serie A by bringing goals from a midfield role. This season, his first full campaign in the top-flight, he has been deployed slightly further forward and rewarded with nine goals so far, more than any other Lecce player. Adding his one assist, Mancosu has been directly involved in 28.6% of Lecce’s league goals this season, key to their relegation fight.
Scoreline prediction: Juventus 3-0 Lecce
