Juventus vs Atalanta pre-match information
The Old Lady have 75 points and are seven clear of nearest rivals Lazio with just seven matches left to play. However, having lost the Coppa Italia final to Napoli and blown a two-goal lead to lose 4-2 against AC Milan last time out, Maurizio Sarri isn’t quite as comfortable in his job as you would believe.
And if they’re to avoid falling to second consecutive league defeat, they’re going to have to work incredibly hard to overcome an Atalanta side which is in red-hot form right now.

The Banshees beat Sampdoria 2-0 on Wednesday to make it 12 consecutive victories across all competitions and 14 unbeaten in total — a run which dates back to mid-January.
As a result, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have climbed to third in the table, just two points behind second-placed Lazio. A victory here would move the visitors to within just six points of Juventus.
Juventus & Atalanta’s previous line-ups:
- Juventus (vs AC Milan): Szczesny; Cuadrado, Rugani, Bonucci, Danilo; Bentancur, Pjanic, Rabiot; Bernardeschi, Higuain, Ronaldo.
- Atalanta (vs Sampdoria): Gollini; Toloi, Caldara, Djimsiti; Hateboer, Freuler, Pasalic, Gosens; Ilicic, Gomez, Zapata.
Gasperini has a fully fit squad to choose from for this vital trip to Turin.
Player to watch:
Juventus’ collapse against AC Milan last time out really was something to behold. Couple that with the fact that they haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last three games and you begin to sense that Sarri has more problems than just a lacklustre midfield.
Atalanta have scored an incredible 85 goals in Serie A this season (at least 18 more than any other team) and further defensive lapses from Sarri’s said will be punished.
With this in mind, the return of Matthijs de Ligt from suspension will be absolutely critical for Juventus. The Dutch starlet has improved tenfold since the start of the season and is starting to look like the mature defensive leader we all saw at Ajax last season.
De Ligt, who has won more aerial duels (69) than any other Juventus player during the 2019/20 Serie A campaign, has undoubtedly forged a better partnership with Leonardo Bonnucci than Daniele Rugani this season.
