Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool won’t sign Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has poured cold water on the potential signing of Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne.
The diminutive forward has enjoyed another productive season at the Stadio San Paolo, provoking interest from the Premier League.

- He was named as captain of Gli Azzurri following Marek Hamsik’s departure to China in January.

- Earlier this month Insigne told Corriere dello Sport that he would be open to a move away from Napoli should the right offer come in.

Under the guidance of veteran tactician Carlo Ancelotti, the 27-year-old has scored 13 goals and registered six assists as Napoli sit second in Serie A.
His form has once again sparked rumours of a move to the Premier League, and after the star admitted he could leave Napoli if he receives an ‘offer he can’t refuse‘, speculation has intensified.
However, one place Insigne will not be pitching up at this summer is Anfield, as Klopp has now ruled Liverpool out of the race for the forward’s signature.
“We will not sign Lorenzo Insigne,” he told reporters.
“He is a very good player but he has a long-term contract at Napoli. We will not even try it.”

“Our plans are not for the public”
With the season nearing its end, the transfer rumour mill is once again in full swing, and Liverpool – as is customary with every big club – have been linked with some of the brightest players across the continent.
Despite this, Klopp remained coy about the club’s recruitment policy this summer, hinting there could be one or two ‘improvements’ but that ultimately he is happy with the harmony in his squad.
He added: “We will try to improve the team always. We will try it always in training, I think that is the best way to do it.
“The team is pretty well balanced. Our plans are not for the public, that’s how it is.
“Will it be the biggest transfer window of Liverpool? No, but you’d have been surprised if I said yes.
“Our eyes are always open. We always look. What happens if and when but nothing to say in the moment.”
