The 2023 ACB League Playoffs finals are in full-swing. Real Madrid finished third in the regular season were pit against sixth-placed Gran Canaria in the quarter-finals, winning the series in two games thanks to 95-68 and 89-81 victories. Joventut, meanwhile, finished seventh but caused an upset in the quarter-finals with a 2-0 series victory over second-placed Baskonia, winning 99-91 and 83-76.
Joventut will have been hoping for a similar upset in the semi-finals and they got off to a good start, winning the first game of this five-game series 93-83, but the past two games have seen Real Madrid take control. The series was levelled with a 90-73 and Real Madrid have now taken a 2-1 lead, winning the lat game 83-73 to put them just one win away from the final.
European champions Real Madrid are looking to make back-to-back titles having overcome rivals Barcelona in last year’s final, while Joventut could reach their first final since 1993.
