Inter Milan will be aiming to win back-to-back games for the first time since Serie A returned as they host Brescia on Wednesday night (18:30).

Antonio Conte’s men beat Parma at the weekend thanks to a couple of late goals, but they haven’t won consecutive matches in Serie A since February and will be desperate to change that. They will want to get back to winning ways and get closer to Lazio, who occupy second place.

Brescia, meanwhile, are propping up the wrong end of the table. The Biancazzurri are in 19th place, only avoiding bottom by virtue of goal difference. They are eight points from 17th spot and nine away from being safe. They desperately need a win in Milan.

Inter Milan and Brescia’s previous line-ups:

  • Inter (vs Parma): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, De Vrij, Godín; Candreva, Barella, Gagliardini, Biraghi; Eriksen; Lukaku, Martinez.
  • Brescia (vs Genoa): Joronen; Sabelli, Papetti, Sabelli, Semprini; Bjarnason, Tonali, Dessena; Zmrhal; Torregrossa, Donnarumma.

Inter will still be without defensive stalwart Milan Skriniar through suspension after his red card against Sassuolo. Furthermore, Marcelo Brozovic, Stefano Sensi and Matías Vecino are also still missing for the Nerazzurri. Meanwhile, Brescia have a quartet of injuries with regulars Andrea Cistana, Jhon Chancellor, Dmitri Bisoli and Emanuele Ndoj all set to miss the clash at the San Siro.

Players to watch:

Inter: Inter’s attacking prowess relies on the finishing skills of their strikers but Romelu Lukaku in particular. The Belgian has enjoyed a promising first season in Serie A, scoring 19 goals so far this season. If he manages to find the back of the net against Brescia he will be the first Inter striker to score 20 since Mauro Icardi bagged 29 in 2018, and he will also have registered 20 league goals for just the second time in his career. His career-best of 25 is well within reach.

Brescia: Who else but Sandro Tonali? The regista is a superb creative midfielder who runs the show for Brescia at the heart of their side. He’s so good that even the team’s misfortunes have been unable to dull his impact, so much so that he’s become an Italy international and is rumoured to be on the verge of signing for opponents Inter! Tonali will no doubt want to impress Conte with a potent performance at San Siro so he is worth watching even more than he usually is.

Scoreline prediction: Inter 3-1 Brescia
