Iga Swiatek entered Wimbledon on a 35-match winning run, which placed her joint-16th for the longest streak in the Open Era, and the lethal Pole extended that to 36 unbeaten games when she took down Jana Fett in two sets in the First Round, teeing up this tie against ‘lucky loser’ candidate Lesley Kerkhove.
Swiatek has not let her French Open triumph from earlier this month derail her focus for the sport’s blue-riband tournament in London, and she’ll be looking to improve upon her Fourth Round placement last year when she came unstuck against Ons Jabeur. She’s already made good on delivering.
