Homefans, a UK-based football traveling platform, has big plans in store after finishing its latest crowdfunding campaign.

The company, which was founded in 2016, specialises in small group trips and unique matchday experiences hosted by local storytellers – who know their respective clubs inside out – in the best football destinations around the world.

Having welcomed travellers from over 40 countries on their trips over the last two years and scaled up to over 35 destinations worldwide, Homefans needed less than 72 hours to meet the minimum funding target of £200,000 on equity crowdfunding platform, Crowdcube.

The final campaign figure equated to £223,230, with a total of 165 investors pledging support to the Homefans cause and founder Daniel Velásquez is looking forward to another period of expansion.

“We are convinced there is a huge opportunity for Homefans in the growing experience economy segment, and we are poised to capture a share of this market by becoming the ultimate go-to sports bucket list platform in the world.”

The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, which is causing disruption to many industries across the world, represents the biggest challenge Homefans has faced to date.

And founder Luke Verbeek is determined to stay positive about what lies ahead for travellers with an interest in the beautiful game as Homefans prepares to take another strive forward.
