Antoine Griezmann’s agent and sister Maud has revealed the forward is only in contact with Atletico Madrid but talks will be held about his future soon.

The French World Cup winner signed a new long-term deal with Atletico Madrid last summer but continues to be linked with a move away to the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona.

Could Griezmann leave Atletico Madrid this summer? Five key things to know…

  1. Antoine Griezmann signed a contract extension with Atletico Madrid last season, keeping him at the club until 2023.
  2. It came a time when the Frenchman was heavily expected to join La Liga rivals Barcelona.
  3. And, with Atletico Madrid out of the Champions League, Griezmann is once again being linked with Barca.
  4. But Griezmann’s agent and sister, Maud, has insisted the forward is only in contact with Atletico at the moment.
  5. Griezmann has been directly involved in 19 goals in La Liga this season, at least 14 more than any other Atletico player.

The rumours escalated following Atletico Madrid’s exit from the Champions League at the hands of Juventus, despite holding a 2-0 lead going into the second leg.

But Griezmann’s agent and sister, Maud, has admitted she is tired of listening to the constant rumours.

“It is tiring everyday to read new things about what my brother thinks and what x or y person said about what he thinks,” she told L’Equipe.

“The only people who look after my the interests of my brother are myself and my father, Alain, and our lawyer, Sevan Karian.

“Antoine is this week with the French national team, whose shirt he wants to honour, like every moment that he is selected, and for the moment that is the only thing that he is thinking about.”

However, she went on to reveal how much Griezmann has been affected by the Champions League exit and admitted talks will be held after the international break.

Maud continued: “It is true that Antoine is devastated (about being eliminated from the Champions League), because one of his objectives behind staying at Atletico was to win the Champions League in their stadium.

“We will sit down altogether when he returns from France duty.

“Antoine will have had the necessary time to reflect.

“And the only club that we are in contact with at the moment is Atletico Madrid and no other.”

Maud Griezmann’s comments come shorty after reports have emerged claiming the forward’s release clause at Atletico Madrid is set to drop from €200m to €120m this summer.

Morata backs Griezmann to stay with Atletico

While Manchester United and Barcelona fans will undoubtedly be hoping their clubs can lure Griezmann away from Atletico Madrid, team-mate Alvaro Morata expects the Frenchman to remain alongside him.

Morata joined Atletico on an 18-month loan from Chelsea in January and has regularly partnered Griezmann up front for the club since. And the Spaniard believes his team-mate is still happy at the Wanda Metropolitano.

“Griezmann will stay at Atlético de Madrid,” Morata proclaimed at a press conference.

“He is very happy here, he is our star player and the club and the fans know and love him.

“I think he’ll stay. He’s in his house.”
