Real Madrid can move one step closer to securing a 34th La Liga championship when they visit Granada on Monday evening.

Zinedine Zidane’s side are currently on a eight-match winning streak in Spain’s top flight during which time they’ve opened up a four-point gap to eternal rivals Barcelona.

Granada, meanwhile, sit comfortably in mid-table and returned to winning ways last time out at Real Sociedad but have failed to win in any of their last three home matches.

Granada & Real Madrid’s previous line-ups:

  • Granada (vs their previous opponents): Silva; Foulquier, Duarte, Vallejo, Díaz, Neva; Fernández, Brice, Herrera, Puertas; Soldado.
  • Real Madrid (vs Deportivo Alavés): Courtois; Vázquez, Militão, Varane, Mendy; Casemiro, Modric, Kroos; Rodrygo, Benzema, Asensio.

Maxime Gonalons, Alex Martinez, Quini and Neyder Lozano are out for Granada though Alvaro Vadillo is a doubt with a stomach problem. Zinedine Zidane will be missing Marcelo and Nacho due to injury while Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos are available for selection after serving a ban in their recent win over Alaves.

Players to watch: Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Lionel Messi might be in the box seat to win this season’s Pichichi Trophy, but with four matches remaining he faces stiff competition from Karim Benzema, who is enjoying one of his more prolific campaigns. The 32-year-old French marksman, who ended a four-game goalless streak last time out against Deportivo Alavés, is six away from equalling his personal-best total for a single season, which he managed four years ago.

Scoreline prediction: Granada 1-2 Real Madrid
