Galatasaray will look to end a run of four games without a win in the Super Lig when they welcome Goztepe to Istanbul on Sunday at 5pm (UK time).
Fatih Terim’s men started the season with consecutive wins over Giresunspor and Hatayspor, following up with an impressive victory over Lazio in the Europa League, but they have not won in their last four league matches, including a recent 3-0 reversal to Kayserispor, which has left them uncharacteristically in 12th.

Galatasaray vs Goztepe build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
Galatasaray’s season is threatening to derail before the 2021/22 Super Lig campaign has really got up and running, with Terim’s side currently hovering precariously in the bottom half of the table and seven points off early pace-setters Altay in first. The Istanbul club have fired a blank in their last two matches, including that deflating 3-0 loss away to Kayserispor on Wednesday, so the emphasis on getting back to winning ways is huge for this contest.
Goztepe are experiencing their own issues this season with Nestor El Maestro’s men currently just a place outside the relegation zone and having enjoyed only one win so far, which came on matchday five against Istanbul Basaksehir. Goz Goz will be desperate to pull off a shock result here and really issue a statement to the rest of the division as they look to avoid an early scrap near the foot of the table which, if they’re not careful, could extend to a more concerning challenge this term.
- Galatasaray (vs Kayserispor): Muslera; Yedlin, Nelsson, Ozturk, Van Aanholt; Antalyali, Assuncao; Kilinc, Feghouli, Caglayan; Mohamed.
- Goztepe (vs Hatayspor): Egribayat; Alici, Arslanagic, Angel, Emir; Aydogdu, Nwobodo, Kayan, Akbunar, Lourency; Ndiaye.
Alexandru Cicaldau, Berkan Kutlu and Halil Dervisoglu are all recent casualties for Galatasaray, joining Omar Elabdellaoui and Arda Turan on the sidelines, with the latter having only played seven minutes this season with an ankle injury (a cameo on matchday one against Giresunspor).

Player to watch: Kerem Akturkoglu (Galatasaray)
The hosts may be having one or two teething problems for 2021/22, but their early failures have not been for the want of trying on Kerem Akturkoglu’s part, with the 22-year-old winger enjoying an impressive start to the season. The recently-capped Turkey international is currently Galatasaray’s chief playmaker, having created 10 chances in the Super Lig this term, more than any other player at the club and the only one with double digits to his name. The Basaksehir academy graduate has also attempted the most take-ons (15) and registered the second-most shots (nine), underpinning his final-third influence for Terim, who will need the wily winger to continue causing havoc up front if his side are to turn the tide and re-enter the title race conversation.
