Gabriel Jesus says his future remains “uncertain” amid interest from Arsenal and Spurs
Gabriel Jesus has shed light on his future at Manchester City following the club’s climatic Premier League title win on the final day of the season.
Pep Guardiola’s men entered Sunday’s curtain-closing gameweek knowing their fate was in their own hands, but the table-toppers contrived to offer a drama-fulled spectacle as they found themselves trailing by two goals to Aston Villa before mounting a five-minute resurgence.
The Etihad was once again the subject of a 3-2 thrilling that had title-deciding ramifications, and following the trophy lift Jesus was pressed on the subject of his future in the North West, saying ‘uncertainty’ still looms as to whether he will be a City player once the 2022/23 season starts up.
Arsenal have emerged as a front-runner to snap up the Brazilian should he decide to leave, with Guardiola already bolstering his frontline with the acquisition of Erling Haaland. Jesus’ agent, Marcelo Pettinati, has confirmed he’s already held discussions with the Gunners over a potential move.
Following that final day, in which Tottenham Hotspur also pipped Arsenal to a top-four finish at the death, securing Champions League football in the process, Antonio Conte’s men are now reportedly weighing up the possibility of gatecrashing their rival’s interest in the City forward.
Pettinati stated that “six more clubs are interested in Gabriel” and Spurs are thought to be one of those keeping tabs on the 25-year-old, who has now added fuel to the fire by confirming his future at City remains “uncertain” as the summer transfer window fast approaches.
“About my future, it’s still uncertain,” Jesus told ESPN Brazil.

“I have a contract with City and I have already expressed my desire to the City people and to my agent.
“I have in my head very clear what I want. Today, I want to celebrate a lot with City. It’s obvious that I’m very happy here. Tomorrow, if everything goes well for me, my wife and our family, Helena [his daughter] will come to the world.
“So, I have to take advantage of this moment. Then, think about the team, smile at the team again. And, on vacation, I decide about my future.”
