“We like the project” – Gabriel Jesus’ agent confirms talks with Arsenal about potential transfer
Gabriel Jesus’ agent has confirmed the Manchester City striker has had talks with Arsenal about a potential move in the summer.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move away from Man City for quite some time now, partly due to him being played out of position by Pep Guardiola, spending most of the season on the wing.
That hasn’t stopped him scoring goals, however, and he has found the net at crucial moments particularly of late to help Man City’s Premier League title quest – including one in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

However, the links of a move away still haven’t gone and have in fact increased this week. That’s because Man City confirmed that they have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer for Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, with just personal terms to be finalised.
So Jesus looks likely to leave the Etihad this summer and his agent, Marcelo Pettinati, has confirmed that he has had talks with Arsenal – though they are not the only team interested in the Brazilian.
“We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project – it’s a possibility we’re discussing,” he told Fabrizio Romano.

“There are six more clubs interested in Gabriel – he’s focused on the final games with Man City, we’ll see.”
Arsenal are the favourites to sign Jesus, and the team he has been most linked with, as the Gunners appear to be in need of a striker this summer. Mikel Arteta’s men look set to lose Alexandre Lacazette in the summer, with the Frenchman yet to sign a new deal and his currently contract up in the summer.
But Lacazette isn’t the only one. The Frenchman has been replaced in the Arsenal starting XI by Eddie Nketiah in recent weeks, and the 22-year-old striker has been thriving, scoring four goals in his past four appearances — two braces against Chelsea and Leeds United — to live the Gunners in their quest to finish in the top four.
Yet Nketiah’s contract is also up in the summer and he is yet to sign a new deal, though Arsenal are reportedly still hopeful of convincing the striker to stay at the Emirates.
