Rob Page’s side sit bottom of Group A4 after picking up just one point from their opening five games and will need a win to have any chance of avoiding relegation. The Welsh have managed to find the net in each of their Nations League matches in 2022, but have been unable to keep a clean sheet, conceding 2+ goals in four of their five Nations League fixtures, leaving them in a precarious position.

Opponents Poland sit three points above them, having beating Wales 2-1 in the reverse fixture back in June, knowing a point will be enough to see them safe for another year.

Wales team news

17-year old Fulham star Luke Harris will be hoping to make his debut for the senior side after making the bench against Belgium, while Ben Davies withdrew from the squad with a small leg fracture and Aaron Ramsey, Joe Allen and Harry Wilson all miss out through injury.

Gareth Bale will be looking to return to the starting XI after making a 27 minute cameo in Wales’ 2-1 defeat to Belgium on Thursday, leaving Rob Page with a tough decision to make with Dan James, Kieffer Moore and Brennan Johnson hoping to keep their places in the side.

Gareth who moved to LAFC from Real Madrid in the summer, only has good things to say about his new side.

“The fans have been really supportive over there, they’ve been really patient as well which is good. I’m enjoying playing there, the atmosphere is incredible, they’re all supporting the team.

“I can’t ask for any more than that. They’ve made me feel at home straight away. So it’s good vibes from the MLS and hopefully that gives me more confidence going into Wales as well.

“The family are now settled in which is a big part. I’m getting stronger and fitter. Now we have an important stretch of games in the MLS, but after that I can turn my attention to the World Cup and hopefully be in the best shape I possibly can.”

Poland team news

Robert Lewandowski will once again lead the line for Poland, looking to go level with Pele on 77 international goals and enter into the top 10 international goalscorers of all time. Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash missed out on the squad through injury, so Sampdoria’s Bartosz Bereszynski is expected to deputise once more, while Jakub Moder is out for the long-term with an ACL injury and will miss this winter’s World Cup in Qatar.

Scoreline prediction: Wales 1-2 Poland
