Tottenham team news
Several players could make their Champions League debut for Spurs this week. Richarlison, Cristian Romero, Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma are either set to start against Marseille or at the very least make a cameo off the bench. Bryan Gil and Lucas Moura, though, are still missing. The pair are recovering from respective injuries. Harry Kane, as usual, is expected to lead Tottenham’s attack. The prolific English marksman has been directly involved in 23 goals in his 24 appearances in the Champions League (20 goals and three assists). Of all players to score 20 or more goals in the competition, only Erling Haaland (64), Mario Gomez (102) and Lionel Messi (103.7) have a better minutes-per-goal ratio than Kane (104.4).
Marseille team news
It’s been an impressive start to Ligue 1 for Marseille who are keeping stride with champions Paris Saint-Germain after the opening six matchdays (both are unbeaten and on 16 points). Alexis Sanchez will miss the trip to London through suspension, which is a shame for Marseille as he has scored three goals against Tottenham in all competitions (twice for Arsenal and once with Man Utd).
Scoreline prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Marseille
