It may be midweek but the FA Cup fifth round is here and 16 must go down to eight. Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2017/18 having fallen at this hurdle in each of the past three seasons.

So far the Premier League side have beaten Portsmouth and Preston, and face lower league opposition for the third time. Sheffield United have been quarter-finalists in two of the past three seasons but both appearances came while they were in the Premier League. The Blades have beaten Millwall and Wrexham so far, the latter breaking Hollywood hearts after a replay.

Sheffield United team news

There is a bit of uncertainty with regards to Sheffield United’s team news and the availability of players for Wednesday’s game with an illness travelling through the squad. Paul Heckingbottom is still unsure as to who will be available to play, though Ciaran Clark was name dropped as one of those suffering with illness, hampering his return from injury.

Tottenham team news

Tottenham are expected to rotate for the cup game as the fixtures pile up, but Cristian Stellini has revealed that Harry Kane is likely to play, telling reporters: “It’s normal that Harry wants to play every game and we want him to play every game.”

He added: “We will pick the right team to play a great match, we can win also by making some changes.

“We completely trust all the players we have so we can make changes and nothing has to change. Last season we were disappointed after the match against Middlesbrough. But now we’re in a moment where players have to take responsibility to follow this momentum.

“Me, Ryan Mason, and all the staff are all working hard, it will be tough for sure tomorrow but we have the possibility to play a good game and win with all the players.”

Tottenham will be without Hugo Lloris, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon and Yves Bissouma.
