Sassuolo v Juventus takes place on Sunday at 5pm (UK time).

Juventus will continue their push for a top four finish in Serie A when they travel to face Sassuolo this weekend. Due to their 15-point deduction (which they have appealed), Juventus are currently seventh in Serie A, eight points outside the Champions League spots, and facing a big uphill battle especially after their loss to Lazio last weekend.

Sassuolo, meanwhile, are sitting 12th with not much to play for even at this stage. With nine games left to play, Sassuolo are 11 points outside the European spots and 15 clear of relegation, so there is a risk that the levels could drop.

Sassuolo team news

Domenico Berardi had to come off in the second half of last weekend’s defeat to Verona due to injury, and the Italian has been ruled out of the visit of Juventus. He was replaced last weekend by Gregoire Defrel who will be hoping to move into the starting XI alongside Andrea Pinamonti and Armand Lauriente in attack.

Mert Muldur is also out, a long-term absentee having struggled with injuries this season.

Juventus team news

Given their league standing, Juventus may look to the Europa League as their best route back to the Champions League, 1-0 up on aggregate against Sporting CP in the quarter-finals. With that in mind, Massimiliano Allegri might opt to rotate his squad for Sunday’s game, stuck between the two Europa League Thursdays, with a number of younger players set to travel.

Moise Kean is unlikely to be available after picking up an injury on Friday, with Mattia De Sciglio also a doubt and Alex Sandro suspended. Leandro Paredes is fit, but Paul Pogba isn’t, while a decision will be made on Wojciech Szczesny after he had to come off with chest problems on Thursday. Bremer could also be rested Allegri has hinted at a possible start for Dusan Vlahovic.
