Portuguese Cup live streams- How to watch the 2022:23 season online

Published: 8:00, 9 February 2023

The quarter-finals of the 2022/23 Portuguese Cup commenced this week, with Porto, Benfica and Braga all vying for silverware and Iberian bragging rights.

It’s been a fiercely-competitive tournament this season, with Sporting CP exiting in the third round to third-tier Varzim, while three Liga Portugal 2 clubs made it to the final eight in Belenenses, Academico de Viseu and Nacional. Expect further drama in these latter stages.

Porto are the defending title-holders having taken down Tondela 3-1 at the Estadio Nacional last season, with Vitinha and a Mehdi Taremi brace getting the job done for Sergio Conceicao and his Dragoes. The club are now looking to bring up trophy No. 19 and close the gap on record-winners Benfica, who themselves will be pushing for a 27th etching.

And Porto are through to the semi-finals after beating Academico de Viseu 1-0 in a close encounter. They will face Famalicao in the two-legged semi-finals scheduled to take place in April and May, after the Primeira Liga side beat second-tier Belenenses 4-1.

In the other quarter-finals, there is an all-Primeira Liga clash between Braga and Benfica while Casa Pia take on Nacional.
