QPR go into the latest round of Championship fixtures in third, just three points behind second-placed Blackburn Rovers with a game in hand. But they have suffered a minor dip in recent weeks with two defeats in their past four matches. The most recent defeat came on Friday away to Birmingham City, with Auston Trusty and Emmanuel Longelo doing the damage in the first half, in a game that QPR largely dominated.

But their hosts Norwich will be looking to overtake them this week. Just two places and two points behind QPR are the Canaries, though they have played a game more than their opponents. Not too long ago Norwich were the team pushing at the top of the table, but they recently endured a six-match winless streak which included four defeats – having lost just two of their opening 12 Championship games. Norwich did finally end that run at the weekend, however, beating Stoke City 3-1 at Carrow Road.

Norwich vs QPR: Match Stats

The availability of Josh Sargent is unconfirmed which means Norwich could rely even more on Teemu Pukki. The Finnish striker has scored six goals in the Championship so far this season, but has also hit the target 20 times, with no player managing more in the division.

Norwich may also look to cause a threat from set play, averaging 6.83 corners per match in the Championship this season. Across the rest of the division, only West Brom (7.12) have averaged more corners won per game than the Canaries.

Norwich vs QPR: Team news

Norwich’s form has been in part due to their injury issues with no fewer than six players absent. Josh Sargent will hope to return after missing the win over Stoke at the weekend, but Dimitris Giannoulis, Adam Idah, Andrew Omobamidele, Jonathan Rowe and Jacob Sorensen are all still out. Kenny McLean is available after suspension.

Jake Clarke-Salter and Tyler Roberts both suffered injuries in QPR’s defeat to Birmingham on Friday and will be unavailable for their trip to Norwich, joining Chris Willock on the sidelines.
