Manchester City play host to Borussia Dortmund in their second Group G game of the 2022/23 Champions League on Wednesday at 8pm (UK time).
Pep Guardiola’s men secured an emphatic 4-0 win over Sevilla last week to get their European campaign up and running in style, and it was a similar story for Dortmund, who put Copenhagen to sword with a 3-0 thrashing in Germany.

Man City team news
Aymeric Laporte is set to return after the international break having not yet featured this campaign with a knee injury, meaning deadline-day signing Manuel Akanji is likely to come in and cement a starting berth. Guardiola has other defensive issues with both Kyle Walker and John Stones facing late fitness tests.
Guardiola’s defensive worries may not have been quite so problematic had one of his transfer targets from a few seasons back joined. Jules Kounde, who signed for Barcelona in the summer, has recently gone on record to talk about a conversation he had with the City boss when the English champions were tracking his signature two years ago.
“In my first year at Sevilla Guardiola called me. He told me that he loved me and that he believed I would fit the way City play,” Kounde told El Pais.
“I talked a lot about football with both of them [Guardiola and Barcelona boss Xavi]. I realised that they had both seen me play and knew my abilities perfectly. They weren’t just talking: they were very precise conversations.”
Borussia Dortmund team news
Terzic has a fair few injury issues to contend with of his own, including Mahmoud Dahoud, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Thorgan Hazard, with the former not expected back until the start of November with a shoulder injury, while ‘keeper Gregor Kobel and Mateu Morey are also out of action.
