Kyle Walker (thigh) and John Stones (foot) returned this week and have made it into the matchday squad, with the latter starting. Ruben Dias, however, is ruled out after sustaining a thigh injury. Elsewhere the form of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling has been irreplaceable for City this season. De Bruyne is City’s leading marksman with 15 goals, which is tied for the fifth highest in the league’s scoring charts, six of those having been the critical first of the match. Ezri Konsa (knee) and Kortney Hause (chest) are both ruled out for Aston Villa this weekend. Leon Bailey (foot) was a doubt and also misses out. Ollie Watkins has been the leading attacking threat for Villa, netting on 11 occasions, including four match-opening goals.
