Liverpool v Southampton live stream: Watch Premier League online, team news & stats
Liverpool v Southampton takes place on Saturday at 3pm (UK time).
Jurgen Klopp’s side returned to winning ways last week by beating Tottenham 2-1 in London, ending a two-game losing streak in the Premier League. Liverpool also secured their spot in the fourth round of the EFL Cup in midweek, though they needed penalties to beat League One Derby County (with a much-changed XI).
Southampton also needed penalties to get through their EFL Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday, in what was the only match between Ralph Hasenhuttl’s sacking and Nathan Jones’ appointment. Jones’ first task will be to see if he can lift Southampton out of the relegation zone before the World Cup break.

Liverpool team news
Klopp rotated heavily for their EFL Cup win over Derby with the likes of Fabio Carvalho, Kostas Tsimikas, Caoimhin Keller, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Joe Gomez and Nathaniel Phillips all starting among a number of youth players. But there will be no such lineup against Southampton this weekend, with Liverpool set to return to full strength.
However, the hosts are still without Luis Diaz, Arthur and Diogo Jota long-term. James Milner will be hoping he can return after a head injury in what would be his 600th Premier League match. Joel Matip and Naby Keita are also doubts.
Southampton team news
Given their injury issues in defence, Liverpool could do with Southampton’s Duje Caleta-Car. The Croatian centre-back had been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in the January transfer window, while he was still at Marseille, but it failed to materialise.
And Caleta-Car has revealed he wanted to join Liverpool, dubbing them one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“It happened really fast,” Caleta-Car told HampshireLive of his failed move.
“You know, they get a lot of injured players – central defenders – so my agent called me and said to me Liverpool is there. They are something different and I wanted to join them because Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“But it didn’t happen. There was something between Marseille and Liverpool but I don’t want to go into what happened. But now I’m here and really enjoying it here in England. We play against Liverpool now so it’ll be a good test.”
After a slow start to life at Southampton, Caleta-Car has scored three of their past four Premier League matches and may feature from the off at Anfield. However, Jones is without Timo Livramento and Kyle Walker-Peters.
