The first Derby d’Italia of the season sees Juventus and Inter Milan battling it out to try and get back into the Champions League places after having mixed starts to the 2022/23 campaign.
After winning just two of their opening seven league matches, Juve have finally started to find their rhythm, winning each of their last three league matches without conceding and a clean sheet here would see them keep four clean sheets in a row in the competition for the first time since December 2018 (six back then, in six consecutive victories).
Inter have also recently come into form, winning each of their last four Serie A games, scoring at least two goals each time and they could win five in a row in a single edition of the competition for the first time since January 2022 (eight in a row back then). Simone Inzaghi could become just the second Inter manager to win two Serie A away matches against Juventus, after Helenio Herrera (three, between 1961 and 1965) with a win at the Allianz Stadium.

Juve will be without a host of players for the visit of Inter, with Mattia De Sciglio, Moise Kean, Leandro Paredes, Weston McKennie and Paul Pogba all missing out for the home side. There was good news for Massimiliano Allegri however, with the return of Federico Chiesa, who came on for a 16-minute cameo against PSG in midweek in what was his first appearance in 10 months.
Dusan Vlahovic will be hoping to add to his six league goals this term and build on his impressive recent performances after being named the Serie A MVP for October. The Serbian has been directly involved in six goals in six home league games so far in 2022/23 (5 goals, 1 assist) and has scored at least twice as many times as any of his teammates in the league this season.

Inter will be looking to win two Serie A meetings in a row against Juventus for the first time since 2003/04 on Sunday, but they will have to do it without Romelu Lukaku, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Dalbert and midfield general Marcelo Brozovic who all miss out through injury.
Lautaro Martinez has a less than impressive record against Sunday’s opponents, having scored just one goal in his eight Serie A games against Juventus. No side he’s faced as often in the competition has he scored fewer goals against (also 1 in 8 against Roma) and he will be hoping he can put that right this weekend. Nicolò Barella is one of three midfielders to have scored the most goals in Serie A this season (five, level with Zaccagni and Lookman) and is his side’s second highest goalscorer this term after the Argentine (6). The last Inter midfielder to have had more in the first 13 league games of a season was Youri Djorkaeff in 1997/98.
