Juventus continue to flounder with just one win in their last seven Serie A matches, most recently playing out disappointing draws away at Torino (0-0) and Cagliari (2-2). That was followed by a 2-1 defeat to Lazio in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg, though it was just enough to see them through following an opening 2-0 win at the start of April. The Old Lady are still third in the table and need only a couple more wins to secure Champions League qualification, but they’ll also not be giving up on second place.

That position is occupied by this weekend’s opponents, AC Milan, who themselves will be reeling after losing 2-1 to Inter Milan on Monday, allowing their city rivals to seal the Scudetto at the San Siro. Milan are now winless in four across all competitions after crashing out of the Europa League 3-1 on aggregate against Roma and drawing 3-3 away at struggling Sassuolo. Stefano Pioli’s men are still five points clear of Juventus in second and know that simply avoiding defeat will make it very difficult for their rivals to catch them.

This is a fixture that dates back to 1901 and in recent times, it’s remained a close battle with Juventus winning 1-0 at the San Siro earlier this season, following back-to-back wins for Milan. Across all historic meetings, Juventus have 114 wins to Milan’s 101, with the two sharing 89 draws.

Scoreline prediction: Juventus 1-1 AC Milan
