Hearts face an in-form İstanbul Başakşehir in a Europa Conference League group stage clash at Tynecastle Park this evening (5:45pm, UK time).
The hosts are facing a Turkish team for the first time in European football, while this is also Başakşehir’s first encounter with a side from Scotland.
Sides from these two countries have met on six previous occasions in the group stages of a UEFA competition, with Scotland’s Rangers winning once (in the Champions League in 2010) and Turkey’s Galatasaray also triumphing once (CL in 2000). The remaining four encounters have all ended in a draw.

Shankland in particular leads Hearts attack having netted four goals across nine previous appearances this season.

Just one player is missing for Basaksehir as they journey to Scotland’s capital. Centre-back Mustafa Kutay Peksen continues to recover from a serious knee injury. Head coach Emre Belözoglu will also be absent due to not having a coaching Pro Licence.
