Denmark head into their final Nations League game against France one point behind Croatia after losing 2-1 to Zlatko Dalic’s side on Thursday. Christian Eriken’s fantastic strike wasn’t enough to earn them the point they so badly needed after Lovro Majer restored Croatia’s lead just two minutes later, and will now need Austria to do them a favour in Vienna to progress.

France could still find themselves in League B next season, but a win against Austria has put them in a much better position heading to Copenhagen. Didier Deschamps’ men are one point ahead of the Austrians and will just need to match their result to be sure of remaining in the top league for the next campaign.

Denmark team news

Jesper Lindstrom should return to the squad after missing his side’s midweek defeat to Croatia through illness, while Kasper Dolberg will be hoping to get the nod over Martin Braithwaite, who he replaced with 30 minutes remaining in midweek.  Christian Eriksen impressed once again on Thursday, scoring a fantastic long range strike, making it three goals and assists in his last four matches for club and country. He will aiming to make it back-to-back goals and score his 40th international goal for Denmark.

France team news

Goalkeeper Mike Maignan was forced off in the first half against Austria, so Alphonse Areola should deputise once more after Hugo Lloris withdrew from the squad. William Saliba is expected to earn a starting spot after replacing Jules Kounde, who also came off in the first half in midweek.

Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud should both retain their places in the side after each of them found the net against Austria, with Olivier Giroud looking to become just the second player after Thierry Henry to score 50 goals for the French Men’s national side.

Scoreline prediction: Denmark 1-1 France
