Chaves team news

The hosts will be without Carlos Ponck and Joao Mendes after they were both sent off in the 2-2 draw with Vizela last time out. Mendes, who set up the opening goal for Chaves, had been substituted midway through the second half but received his red card in injury time for excessively celebrating Chaves’ late equaliser in front of the Vizela bench.

Porto team news

Porto are still without Pepe, Diogo Costa and Otavio who remain with Portugal on their quest to win the World Cup, while Thursday come too soon for Marko Grujic and Mehdi Taremi after Serbia and Iran were knocked out.

Stephen Eustaquio has also been knocked out of the World Cup with Canada, but the midfielder has also picked up an injury and joins Gabriel Veron and Zaidu Sanusi on the sidelines.

However, Porto can still name a strong squad for the trip to Chaves with Pepe and Toni Martinez likely to lead the line, while Matheus Uribe, Wendell and Galeno should also start.

Scoreline prediction: Chaves 1-3 Porto
