The World Cup has provided fans with around-the-clock football, but there will be a rare two-day pause between the conclusion of the last-16 fixtures on Tuesday and the start of the quarter-finals on Friday. But fear not, there are a selection of club friendlies taking place across those days to fill the void.
Man Utd are one such club who will be in action, with Ten Hag putting his truncated squad through their paces in southern Spain. The Red Devils begin their Iberian sojourn with a match-up against La Liga strugglers Cadiz on Wednesday night, before clashing with Real Betis, who have former Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini in charge.
Of course, with 13 of Man Utd’s first-team squad competing in Qatar, Ten Hag has a slightly threadbare roll call. But there are still plenty of experienced faces, including the likes of David de Gea, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay and Victor Lindelof.
Man Utd face Burnley in the EFL Cup last 16 on December 21, before turning their attention to Nottingham Forest for their first Premier League game back post-Qatar.

Jadon Sancho has been left at Carrington to continue an individual training programme, but Alejandro Garnacho, Anthony Elanga and a collection of promising youngsters are all in. Axel Tuanzebe joins Sancho in the Carrington digs as he continues to recover from injury.
